Located at YDA Center in Ankara, the tugbaulusan fashion house is a flagship store that brings a daylit ready-to-wear boutique and a bridal couture salon with a runway podium together under one roof. Kaya + Partners translated the brand's identity into a dual-character spatial language woven from arches, brass details and exposed concrete textures.
Brief: Two Characters Under One Roof
The client's program called for two distinct experiences: a spacious ready-to-wear retail area open to daytime foot traffic, and a ceremonial bridal salon operating by appointment. The store design rests on a transitional sequence that grades these two characters without severing them. Light levels deliberately decrease from the bright storefront facade toward the dim depths of the couture area.
Exterior: Black Mass, Illuminated Windows
Facing the YDA Center plaza, the facade works like a quiet yet assertive calling card, with its black panel cladding and illuminated brand signage. Full-height glass display windows carry the collection out onto the street, while a wicker seating nook and bonsai landscaping lend the entrance a boutique-scale intimacy.
Ready-to-Wear Boutique: Brass and Cream in Daylight
Natural light pouring through the glass facade takes on a warm glow across the cream walls, beige marble flooring and brass hanging rails. Glass-and-brass cylindrical display towers and a central hanging island stage the collection with the precision of a jewelry showcase. Beneath a sculptural ceiling geometry, the boutique interior design remains airy and inviting.

Cash Desk and Jewelry Wall: A Rhythm of Gold Details
The gold cylindrical cash counter is both the operational and visual focal point of the store. A jewelry display panel with brass hooks weaves necklaces and earrings into the wall like an architectural texture, while a white consultation desk adds a layer of one-on-one attention to the sales experience.
Couture Salon: A Runway Stage Beneath the Arches
At the heart of the store lies the couture salon, framed by Corinthian-capital columns and arches. An elliptical timber podium ringed with LED light places the bridal gown center stage like a star performer, while a gold branch-and-drop chandelier and grey velvet drapes turn each fitting into a ceremony. Track lighting on the exposed ceiling adds a contemporary tension to the neoclassical frame.
Bridal Gallery: Symmetry and a Sense of Ceremony
Mannequins arranged on low timber platforms along the wall present embroidered wedding gowns in the manner of a sculpture gallery. Oversized brass-framed mirrors, candlelight and consoles with fresh flowers turn the fitting into a cherished memory, while the couture collection on brass rails stays within arm's reach.
Neoclassical × Industrial: The Material Palette
The project's tension is built through its materials: polished cream marble, greige exposed concrete, dark timber podiums, brass and gold accents, crystal-drop chandeliers and cream bouclé sofas. Singular pieces such as a black full-length mirror with a baroque crown give the space a collector's spirit.
Consultation Offices: Trust Built on Privacy
Behind brass-framed glass partitions, the meeting and management offices are reserved for private consultations with brides-to-be. A glass-and-brass cylindrical vestibule and a styling consultation station link the customer journey into a seamless flow, from welcome to fitting.
Translating a Brand into Space
The tugbaulusan fashion house is an example of a flagship store that turns shopping into an experience, where every detail, from the display glass to the podium lighting, serves the brand identity. In this project, Kaya + Partners designs retail space not merely as a sales floor but as the brand's most enduring communication medium.
