Stone Walls and Building Regulations: An Architecture Closed to Cable
Bodrum's building character places direct constraints on automation. Thick stone walls, exposed timber beams and a facade language protected by regulation make cable routes that are routine elsewhere impossible here. In new build the answer is clear: infrastructure goes in at foundation stage, conduit laid before the stone is built up. But a significant share of Bodrum work is refurbishment of existing structures, where cutting into the wall is often neither possible nor right. There the logic inverts: the critical backbone is pulled as far as it can go through floors, ceiling voids and service shafts; unreachable points are completed with wireless endpoints. This is not an ideological preference but an engineering decision imposed by the building — and configured properly it runs as reliably as a fully wired system.
